How does counselling help?
Who is counselling for?
By giving you the opportunity to talk openly and honestly about the things that are on your mind now, as well as the things that have happened in the past, you may begin to notice patterns emerge.
Recognising these patterns will help things become clearer and will make it easier for you to decide how and what you would like to change to be able to achieve your goals.
You will learn things about your own behaviour which will help you to make better decisions in the future and will also help you to understand why other people might behave the way they do around you.
I usually like to use three main techniques in sessions depending on what your needs are:
Giving you the space to talk openly and without judgement about the things you need to
Psychoeducation - learning about how mental health issues affect us, e.g. how anxiety works, or why a trauma might stay with us after the event
Learning some new skills and coping strategies
At Reef Counselling, I offer counselling for anyone aged 18 years or over.
We can all face difficult times in our lives, no matter our age, gender, race or social status; and my belief at Reef Counselling is that our services should be available to all who require them.
Sessions are one-to-one and last 60 minutes, usually on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Each session will cost £50 and is payable by bank transfer 48 hours prior to your session.
If you do need to cancel your session, please notify me at least 24 hours before your appointment or full session fees will still apply.
